CAM students tackle discrimination for anti-bullying week

Greater Manchester Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Lloyd dropped in to see an anti-bullying workshop being delivered to Year 9 students at The Co-operative Academy of Manchester. The workshop was one strand of our anti-bullying week programme of activities, which also included assemblies and tasks in Tutor Time.

At the academy we are proud of our students and their commitment to our values of Fairness, Ambition and Respect; they take an active role alongside staff to make our academy a safe and caring environment where bullying is not tolerated.

We were pleased to welcome award-winning arts company, Art with Heart, to help Year 9 discuss the issues in detail. Art with Heart have been working with a number of schools during national anti-bullying week (14-18 November), leading thought-provoking workshops to help tackle discrimination and bullying.

The Commissioner wrote that he was “[v]ery impressed by the mature young people I listened to, a credit to our city region.”
