Ms Jackson’s Blog, October 2014
It has been a very successful start to the new academic year for our Year 7 students. The transition has been very smooth and for me on a personal level, very satisfying. It makes me very proud when I visit lessons to see excellent teaching and learning taking place and Year 7 students so engaged with their learning. I also met a lot of parents and carers on our open evening and it was a pleasure to hear that their children were happy and had settled well in to the academy.
Can I please ask you, as parents and carers, for your support in checking that your child is completing homework and submitting it on time. Homework is a very important factor in your child achieving the best results possible and being successful in their understanding of the topic covered in class.
As you are aware the academy has introduced a new reward system which is proving to be very popular with the students. Their ‘vivo’ account can be accessed on line and students can purchase items from the on-line shop. Vivos can also be used for school trips and events including the school prom at the end of Year 11.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you wish to discuss any aspect of your child’s learning.
