Welcoming back Year 10 from work experience

Today Year 10 students are returning from their two-week work placements. They now join our Family called 'Tenacity' as we prepare them for their time in Year 11.

The reports from employers have been fantastic, with our students displaying good timekeeping and a positive attitude to work, and utilising their skills in the workplace. Some students have done so well that their employers have told our staff that our students are ‘the best they’ve ever had on work experience’ and in a few cases, that they’d even be happy to take them on in full time work!

Our sponsors The Co-op took a leading role in offering placements, taking on over 20 students at their head office, 1 Angel Square, as well as taking on students in other sections of their businesses.

We are grateful for all the organisations that welcomed our students, ranging from shops and hair salons to offices, nurseries and primary schools. Our students have been working with architects, GPs, mechanics, sports coaches and play workers, to name just a few. The support of these businesses in giving students a taster of real working life is invaluable. Year 10 will be now be coached to think about their careers and the next steps of college or apprenticeship.
