Two Co-operative students achieve Education Awards

Two Year 9 students, Alessandra Ozuzu and Shaun Robinson, attended the Manchester Educational Awards ceremony on Wednesday, 3 July 2013.

The annual event is held by Sir Richard Leese (Leader of Manchester City Council), the Lord Mayor and Children and Commissioning Services to recognise the talent and achievements of secondary aged pupils.

The award is for young people who have shown excellence in school life or have demonstrated co-operation, continuous effort and motivation. All nominated pupils are invited to a short ceremony to receive a certificate and gift voucher from the Lord Mayor.

Ms Jackson, the Learning and Pastoral Support Officer for Year 9, recommended the two because they both demonstrated excellence and have made an outstanding contribution to school life.

The ceremony was held to honour student achievement across Manchester it was a fantastic afternoon for both staff and students. It was also a great pleasure to witness Shaun and Alessandra receive their award as it was a culmination of all their hard work and commitment. It was one of the highlights of my career and an absolute privilege to work alongside such driven individuals.

Well done to them both.
