How to get here

The Co-operative Academy of Manchester encourages students to travel to the academy sustainably. Walking and cycling are the best ways to look after the environment, get some exercise and reduce congestion around the academy gates. Please travel safely and walk, cycle or use public transport if you can.

Walking Information

Directions from The Avenue Library and Learning Centre

Duration: 10 minutes

  1. Head westwards on Victoria Avenue towards Walker Road
  2. Turn left onto Cecil Road and walk for 0.3 miles
  3. Turn right onto Mirfield Road and continue for about 450 ft
  4. Turn left onto Plant Hill Road
  5. After 0.2 miles The Co-operative Academy of Manchester will be on your right

Directions from North Manchester General Hospital

Duration: 20 minutes

  1. Walk northwards on Delauneys Rd toward Crumpsall Way for 0.3 miles
  2. Delauneys road turns right and becomes Mill Brow, walk for 0.1 miles
  3. Turn left onto Chapel Road and continue for 0.3 miles
  4. Turn right onto Plant Hill Road
  5. After 0.3 miles, The Co-operative Academy of Manchester will be on your left

Directions from Blackley Cemetery (Victoria Avenue Entrance)

Duration: 20 minutes

  1. Walking into the cemetery from Victoria Ave., bear left for 0.3 miles
  2. Take a right toward Chapel Lane
  3. Continue onto Chapel Lane for 0.5 miles
  4. Turn Left onto Plant Hill Road
  5. After 0.3 miles, The Co-operative Academy of Manchester will be on your left

Cycling Information

The Co-operative Academy of Manchester has convenient parking for student cyclists in our cycle shelter.

Cycling to school:

Victoria Avenue is a main road off Plant Hill Road which has an on-road cycle route with cycling facilities. Most roads around the academy including Plant Hill Road are advisory/quiet routes, good for cycling.

Some pupils who live further away from the school may be eligible for a free travel pass from Manchester City Council (visit this page for details).

Directions by car

From the M60 motorway, take the A576 exit at junction 19 to Manchester  City Centre/Middleton. At the roundabout, take the A576 exit to Middleton Road. Continue 0.7 miles then take a left onto Victoria Avenue. Drive 1 mile then take the 1st exit at the roundabout onto Plant Hill Road. Continue 0.4 miles. The academy will be on the right.
