Healthy Lifestyles project launched with Family Fun Day

On Wednesday 28 October, we launched our Healthy Lifestyles project with a Fun Day open to the whole community.

Visitors came along to the Academy for our Healthy Lifestyles Fun Day. We invited them to drop in and:

Join a community coach from FC United of Manchester for taster sessions in Fooball, Handball and Cricket!

Learn Cheerleading motions, pom dance skills and simple stunts!

Play Fun Shooting and Crazy Catch Netball games for all the family to get involved in!

Enjoy the buzz and accept the challenge of rock climbing and abseiling on a Mobile Climbing Wall!

Watch interactive Cooking Demonstrations on how to make healthy wraps and 'snack packs' for lunch boxes, or a quick and simple soup that is perfect for lunch times or an evening meal with the family. Includes taste testing!

Fun for all ages, as well as being a healthy activity, Pedal Car Racing doesn't have a carbon footprint!

Test your fitness, teamwork, strength and agility on a military-style Inflatable Obstacle Course. This activity is fun and engaging for children and adults alike!

Are you the next World Cup star of the future? 6-16 year olds, come and give Rugby Union a go!

Come and try Mini Olymics; fun for all the family! Or why not compete in our press-up and kettle bell challenge?!

Smoothie Stars Smoothie Bike - Just add your favourite fruits, pedal the bike and within minutes you will have a delicious and nutritious smoothie! Go on...Surrender to the Blender!

Can't get a sitter? Really wanna get fitter? Then bring the baby with you to Buggy Boot Camp! All levels of fitness welcome.

Play Visually Impaired Cricket with a size 3 ball with ballbearings in. A great experience for all.

Come and try Family Boxing with Moston & Collyhurst ABC. Boxing techniques and exercise rolled into one, no experience or equipment needed.

Katy is really worried; she's heard her grandad's eating rubbish! Come and join LPA Children's Theatre Company for a fun Arts Craft Workshop followed by an exciting performance of 'Grandad's Eating Rubbish'.
