Parents & community consultation - expansion plans

Dear parents and members of the community

If you have been following the local news, or have family members that have been looking for a school place this year, you will no doubt be aware of the significant pressure on the availability of school places across the city.  Combined with our ever-increasing popularity as a school of choice, our academy has been approached by Manchester City Council to consider expanding our intake over the next few years.  This expansion would not only create additional places for students in the area but would also have the potential to improve our facilities for existing students and the local community.

This potential expansion would bring with it a significant new build / expansion project.  At this stage, there are no concrete plans about exactly what this would involve, although we do have some clear ideas about where this might be built on our existing site, and how it might add some exciting facilities for our students and our local community.

We are committed to involving our stakeholders in these discussions and would like to invite you to attend an information and discussion meeting on Monday 2nd November at 6pm.  Although we do not envisage being able to share any developed plans, we would like to have the opportunity to talk about the rationale behind the project and outline some of the things we would like to achieve if the project were to go ahead.

The meeting will take place in our main hall and refreshments will be available throughout the evening.  I will be joined by representatives from The Co-operative Academies Trust and colleagues from Manchester City Council.  There will be an opportunity to discuss the proposal and feed back any ideas or concerns that you may have.

I look forward to welcoming you to the academy

Yours faithfully,

Mr S Brice,
