The academy held an Open Evening on Thursday 1 October. If you missed it and would like to visit our academy before making your decision, please arrange a tour by contacting the Community Team on 0161 795 3005.

We will also be happy to arrange for parents to use our computers and Internet access to complete the applications.

Our Open Evening was a huge success and our staff and students enjoyed meeting families and showing off their departments.

In addition, the evening allowed us to celebrate our local community. We held a primary school football tournament and the winners came from Bowker Vale Primary School. Congratulations to all 6 teams that took part. Our academy Big Band and Rock Band performed an amazing set in the courtyard. We also had representatives from The Co-operative Food and the 105th Manchester Scout Group (who meet in our sports hall each week), and Max the Police Dog was a big hit. The academy is the base for the local Police Cadets scheme, and the cadets were busy on the night handing out leaflets to promote safety as the autumn draws in.

The winner of the luxury hamper was Lilianna from Bowker Vale Primary School. Lilianna and her family visited every department and collected a stamp from each one to be entered into the draw, and was randomly selected. The picture shows Lilianna's mum collecting the hamper.
